It's the 1998 hardcover German edition, Die Heimliche Piratin (The Secret Female Pirate), from List Verlag.



It's a beautiful production with a wonderful, atmospheric original painting, and a stitched-in red silk bookmark.






 Here's the second, trade paperback edition of Die Heimliche Piratin, published in 2000 by Econ & List. It has another fabulous cover, a lovely 1826 Delacroix painting that fits the time period exactly.
